Historique
Voir aussi Bechly (1999) [A traiter !]. Il apparaît que le nom Euphaeidae pris chez de Selys Longchamps (1853) n'est pas valable, pas plus que le même nom proposé chez Jacobson & Bianchi (1905). La difficulté vient finalement d'un problème de typification : le genre Epallage étant antérieur, certes de quelques mois, au genre Euphaea est prioritaire pour choisir la bonne dénomination de la famille correspondante, qui est donc légitimement celle des Epallagidae. Cette correction a été faite correctement par Needham (1903) et je la restitue donc en 2022.
Phylogénétique
Sauf au sujet de l'adoption du nom supposé légitime dans la classification phylogénétique (Epallagidae), il n'y a pas de différence avec la version officielle de la classification (nom utilisé : Euphaeidae). Bybee & al. (2021) confirment la proximité de cette famille avec celle des Lestoideidae, ce qui est conforme à mes propositions (Deliry 2014, 2018). Par contre, ils rapprochent aussi les Pseudolestidae, ce qui ne me semble pas adéquate [2021].
