Commentaires
Longtemps considérée comme une forme d'Ischnura elegans, et, élevée au rang d'espèce par Lohmann (1970). Cette espèce est très proche d'Ischnura saharensis avec laquelle elle aurait une origine commune et se serait individualisée récente sur certaines grandes îles méditerranéennes (Dumont 1972).
Répartition
Elément méditerranéen (St Quentin 1960).
Endémique des îles occidentales de la Méditerranée (Dommanget 1987).
- Corse - Répandue en Corse où il s'agit de la seule espèce du genre (Dommanget 1987 ; La Porta & al. 2023).
- Italie (La Porta & al. 2023).
Espèce endémique de Corse et d'Italie (La Porta & al. 2023)

Habitats
Eaux stagnantes ou faiblement courantes de nature diverse : fossés, mares, étangs, gravières, marais, milieux littoraux, saumâtres ou non, cours d'eau à assèchement estival partiel, canaux... on ne connaît rien sur sa limite altitudinale (Dommanget 1987).
