Classification phylogénétique progressive des Odonates [2004-2025]

Les plus anciennes Libellules sensu lato (Odonatoptera) que l'on connaisse datent de près de 325 Ma (Pennsylvanien, Carbonifère) et sont rangées dans le groupe des Protodonata (hic 2022).

A noter que dans le cadre de la description d'Epiophlebia diana (syn.), Carle (2012) rassemble un bon nombre d'intéressantes références sur la classification des Odonates.
